Our Story

 

The Paper Sack began as a way to continue my mother's legacy. 

Nothing reminds me more of the holidays than fresh, homemade candy. Every year since I was 12, my mom and I would either bake cookies or make candy during Christmas break. Us working together in the kitchen was always fun, and it was easier to make candy than buy gifts for all the members of my family. One year, Mom wanted to do something different. Instead of cookies, we would do Chocolate Peanut Clusters. Little did we know, that was the beginning of something larger.

That first Christmas, we made one batch. Small goodie bags for each family. Each Christmas after, we made more and more. We upgraded to candy tins so each family could have more to share. Then, we began to share with our neighbors, friends, and coworkers.

No matter where I was, whether at home for the holidays, or at college, I knew I could make a quick gift that they would love.

After brainstorming with my mom and husband, I began The Paper Sack as a way to continuing the tradition of sweet holiday treats. 

In 2021, I was frustrated with the chocolate available to me. The flavor leaned either too sweet or too milky, and the freshness was always questionable. Using my background in chemistry, I researched and began producing our own milk, dark, white and ruby chocolate varieties. 

This creates a boutique chocolate experience loaded with the taste of nostalgia.
